"Beltway Bunts - Home away from Home" - by Ashith B. Hegde

Four summers back, I set foot on Uncles Sam’s land and one of the frequent questions that I was asked from my friends and cousins was, “Do you miss India?”. My answer would be, “Of Course - YES!”. Most of the time the follow up question would be, “What do you miss the most?”. I would reply, “Family, Friends, South Kanara fish and Cricket”. Well, there is nothing that can be done with filling the gaps with South Kanara Fish and Cricket, you eventually learn to live with that vacuum. However, I needed to fill the void from missing my friends and family in India.

When I moved to Delaware for work one of the first things I did was to get into the Beltway Bunts circle and the rest as they say is history. Now after 2 years, countless parties, numerous activities and fun, the Beltway has become like my second home. It is quite a hike for me to get to any of the Beltway Bunts activities, but it has been worth my time and energy.

Beltway bunts is an awesome group with the right mix of experience, youth and energy. I would like to introduce you, as well as ask you, to join our group in FaceBook called “BANA 2011 @ Washington DC”. We hope to see you all here in Washington, D.C. during the summer of 2011!
