President's Message

Dear BANA member,

I am very excited to announce that we have chosen the Marriott-Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. as the venue to host the BANA convention in 2011. This beautiful hotel, situated in downtown D.C., offers easy access from the National Airport and is convenient to area attractions. We have negotiated attractive room rates for our guests and are working hard to keep the registration fees reasonable to make the convention attendance affordable to all of our esteemed members. We will send additional details soon.

A key initiative that I firmly believe in and hope to get the community support is to publish Banavani in digital format only. Yes, let us take Banavani Green! In addition to being environmentally friendly – we will save BANA money in publishing and postage. An estimated $8000 will be saved in two years that could potentially be used for charitable work! The executive team and I encourage all members to aid in making this transition go as smoothly as possible!

This will be the last hard copy of Banavani that you will receive. Our Banavani team and Membership committee will be working closely together to send upcoming newsletters to you via your e-mail. The e-mail address that will be used will be the one listed in the New Jersey BANA directory. More information on this transition is listed after this message. As always, you will be able to access this publication on our website at www.bana.org.

Members of our website committee are working hard by revamping the BANA website to enhance and improve user experience. Most of the work is completed and the new web site went live in December. Our website will play a critical role in our ability to reach out and recruit new members as well as to provide community updates to our members. Your suggestions and ideas for continuous improvement will be greatly appreciated.

Wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
