Kolkebail Mahabala Shetty Award for Outstanding S.A.T. Achievement for the 2009-2010 school year
Winner :
Ms. Shalika Shetty - Daughter of Ashok & Lalitha Shetty of Houston, TX. Shalika Shetty will receive $500 and an award at the July 2011 Washington, D.C. Bana convention.
Shalika graduated from McNeil High School in May 2010. An active member in the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Diversity clubs, she held Officer Positions in NHS and FNHS in her senior year. A Girl Scout since Kindergarten, she recently earned her Gold Award (the highest award in Girl Scouting), centering her project on promoting breast cancer awareness, organizing a hair donation drive, and creating relaxation baskets for teens whose family members had been affected by cancer. Shalika is currently an Architecture Major at the University of Texas, Austin.
